{"id":19,"date":"2016-05-24T02:03:45","date_gmt":"2016-05-24T06:03:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/plesk.tlccar.com\/wordpress\/wordpress\/?page_id=19"},"modified":"2018-02-14T20:51:02","modified_gmt":"2018-02-15T01:51:02","slug":"showcars","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tlccar.com\/?page_id=19","title":{"rendered":"SHOWCARS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\">Three of our projects for a customer have been displayed at the Geneva Auto Show.\u00a0 Two of these are:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The single seat (monoposto) <a href=\"http:\/\/tlccar.com\/?page_id=305\">Mono Ego in Geneva 97<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The mid-rear engine <a href=\"http:\/\/tlccar.com\/?page_id=305\">Rocket in Geneva 98<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\">Much of this work done by TLC Carrossiers pioneered applications of Computer Aided Design (CAD) by a small company, and was highlighted in magazine articles:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The February 1999 issue of<u> Automotive Engineering<\/u>, the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) magazine has a story on TLC&#8217;s project in the computer engineering section page 48.<\/p>\n<p><u>Modern Machine Shop<\/u> for February 1999 highlights our ability to utilize our CAD\/CAM systems and our large gantry mill in producing\u00a0 the body molds for the composite panels for a show car. The story begins on page 90.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/plesk.tlccar.com\/wordpress\/_borders\/CAE_cover.jpg\" alt=\"CAE_cover.jpg (11671 bytes)\" width=\"161\" height=\"225\" \/>\u00a0 <strong>The November 1998 issue of <u>CAE<\/u> magazine cover story featured the design of the Geneva show car, the Rocket designed and built by TLC Carrossiers .<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In the article Robert Miles states that &#8220;the key is that these product simulations are accurate and complete enough to help guide design and manufacturing decisions without the time and expense of building a physical prototype&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We certainly believed in this statement when we reached out to design this car and build it without the expense and time of constructing the usual full size mock-up.\u00a0 This approach worked as you can see on the brief of the <a href=\"http:\/\/plesk.tlccar.com\/wordpress\/rocket.htm\">Rocket, Geneva 98<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three of our projects for a customer have been displayed at the Geneva Auto Show.\u00a0 Two of these are: The single seat (monoposto) Mono Ego in Geneva 97.
